A media bridge
Recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of both traditional print and digital media, we've been developing a platform that integrates them in imaginative ways to expand community participation.
The combination of local print and universal digital provides maximum exposure and creates rich cross-media opportunities. Digitized print media is shared by email and on social media platforms. Direct mail is used to invite readers to a website. QR codes are used to link print ads and coupons to online marketplaces where products and services may be purchased directly.
Print is a tactile experience
There's nothing quite like the smell of fresh newsprint as you leaf through the pages of a newspaper. It takes time and can be more deeply connected with. Readers of print tend to better retain knowledge they've acquired.
Our newspaper serves readers in Schoharie, Delaware, Ulster, and Greene Counties of Upstate New York. It includes six publications as sections in one single newspaper: the Mountain Eagle, the Schoharie News, the Cobleskill Herald, the Windham Weekly, the Catskills Chronicle, and the Tri-County News. The newspaper is available Friday mornings at many retail establishments located within our service area. We mail our print newspaper to subscribers inside and outside our service area and enjoy a large and growing number of digital subscribers.
Rapidly disseminating timely information
Digital media allows people to quickly obtain a basic working knowledge of a subject and share it widely with ease.
